Meta: The parent of Facebook Meta to slow down hiring as costs rise

Meta Platforms Inc is slowing the growth of its workforce as the Facebook the parent seeks to curb costs, the company said Wednesday.

“We regularly evaluate our talent pipeline based on our business needs, and in light of the expense guidance provided for this earnings period, we are slowing its growth accordingly,” a Meta spokesperson he said in an e-mailed statement.

Business Insider, citing an internal note to employees, reported that the company was lowering hiring goals and he had temporarily stopped hiring for the rest of the year.

Meta Platforms last week had its slowest revenue growth in a decade, with the CEO Mark Zuckerberg also saying that the company would cut costs.
