State Of Rest was confirmed as the winner of the race despite veering across and contacting second-placed finisher Anamoe. The four-year-old stallion started favourite for this year’s $5m weight-for-age classic after the narrow-miss last year. Annabel Neasham’s Zaaki was on the second line of betting with some punters convinced the tempo of the race would result in the seven-year-old gelding winning the 2040m race.
