China reported 2,105 new COVID-19 infections on Oct. 18, 29, including 401 symptomatic and 1,704 asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said Sunday.
This compared to 1,658 new infections on October 18, 28, of which 377 symptomatic and 1,281 asymptomatic, which China counts separately.
There were no new deaths, the same as the day before, keeping casualties at 5,226.

As of October 29, mainland China had confirmed 259,438 cases with symptoms.

According to local government data, the Chinese capital Beijing reported 12 symptomatic and three asymptomatic cases, compared to 20 symptomatic and two asymptomatic cases the previous day.

The Shanghai financial hub reported zero symptomatic and nine asymptomatic cases, compared with one symptomatic and eight asymptomatic cases the day before, the local health authority reported.
