In November 1922, within the Valley of the Kings close to Luxor in Egypt, after years of looking out, a workforce led by the English archaeologist Howard Carter found the stays of the younger pharaoh of historical Egypt, Tutankhamun. That they had been hidden for greater than 3,000 years. On the centenary of the historic discovery, Egyptologist Aidan Dodson talks with Eve Jackson about historical Egypt’s most well-known king, what was contained in the tomb, and why it nonetheless fascinates us right now.
