Phase 2 load shedding will be implemented again on Wednesday evening

Phase 2 load shedding will again be rolled out on Wednesday from 17:00 to 22:00, Eskom announced.

“[On wednesday] In the morning, two generating units at the Hendrina power plant and one at the Matimba power plant were taken offline for repairs. A generating unit at the Arnot Power Station has been put back into service. One generation unit each at the Kusile and Tutuka power plants is expected to be back in service this afternoon, ”Eskom said in a statement.

“The onset of winter saw an increase in demand and this will result in capacity constraints during this period, particularly during the evening and morning peaks. Unfortunately, this would generally require the implementation of load shedding during the evening peaks.

“Eskom would like to remind the public that load shedding is implemented only as a last resort to protect the national grid. We therefore urge all South Africans to continue to use electricity sparingly, especially between 05:00 and 09:00 on. morning and 16: 00-22: 00 in the evening. “

This will be the third time this week that Eskom has implemented load shedding during peak hours this week.
