A boon for local farmers – Tempo – The nation’s fastest growing newspaper

Staying true to GMA Network’s commitment to public service, the GMA-7 Employees’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GEMPC) and Agripreneur Harvest Love (AHL) come together to help local farmers sell their produce.

GEMPC is an organization that provides excellent financial products and relevant services to improve the economic and social well-being of its members and employees.

Meanwhile, AHL is an offshoot of the GMA “Agripreneur” weekend program that features all about agriculture. AHL is a social enterprise that supports farmers and enables them to earn a decent income in a more sustainable way.

Through this collaboration, local farmers can sell their fruit, vegetables and other products in the GEMPC grocery. AHL also assists small businesses that sell honey, peanut butter, tablea, coffee, salabat, gourmet tuyo, and bagoong, among others. In return, consumers are guaranteed clean, safe and affordable food.

GEMPC President Jose Vernon Jacela shares their plan to further expand this partnership to Coop members in GMA regional stations.

We believe that the future of our country lies in agriculture. The partnership between GEMPC and AHL aims more to allow our local farmers to bring their fresh, healthy and nutritious products directly to the tables of our Kapuso and their families through our Coop “.

Agriprenuer, led by award-winning journalist Jiggy Manicad, addresses not only the inspiring stories of farmers, but also the latest technology and modern methods of agriculture, poultry farming, livestock, fishing and food production. Above all, it reflects the importance of agriculture and how Filipinos can make money from this rich industry.

Jiggy reiterates that this show satisfies his passion for serving people, especially farmers, which he himself dealt with when he was still a journalist.

“Now, everyone has a chance to help farmers through Agripreneur Harvest Love by sponsoring their products at prices these farmers are happy with. I believe this is what it is to be a true blue Kapuso: a lifelong servant. A true service to God, to the country and to Filipino comrades ”.

In 2021, Agripreneur won “Best Agricultural TV Show” at the Bright Leaf Journalism Awards for his film “Arms to Farms”, a story about former militant fighters who turned into successful farmers / entrepreneurs or simply called agripreneurs in Lanao del Norte.

“Agripreneur” airs every Saturday at 5:30 am on GMA-7.
