Albanese ‘absolutely welcomes’ minimum wage rise

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he welcomes the decision by the Fair Work Commission to raise the minimum wage by 5.2 per cent. “That left some minimum wage up by just $1.05 an hour or $40 a week,” he said. “It makes a difference to people who are struggling with the cost of living.”Mr Albanese said the Commission came to the figure of 5.2 per cent itself as the government did not put an exact figure on what they wanted the raise to be.
