Mitsubishi Motors’ new Outlander wins the Australian Good Design Award 2022

Mitsubishi Motors Corp has announced that its brand new Outlander has won the Australian Good Design Award 2022 in the Product Design – Automotive and Transport segment.

Organized by Good Design Australia, the Australian Good Design Awards have been promoting excellence in design and innovation since 1958 and is recognized by the World Design Organization (WDO) as Australia’s leading international design sponsorship program. This year, design projects from around the world were evaluated on criteria of excellence, innovation and impact in design by a jury of over 70 international design experts.

The Good Design Awards jury commented: “The SUV’s body style has outstripped the conventional sedan in popularity, primarily for functionality. The Mitsubishi Outlander is an example of good use of space combined with elegant execution. The interior. offers a homely dimension, seven-seat accommodation and contemporary style. The external proportions project a sense of robustness but well balanced with the delicate details of the lamps and the chrome decorations. Mitsubishi has successfully managed to create a distinctive graphic face in a crowded market. ” .

The all-new Outlander is Mitsubishi Motors’ flagship built according to the Bold Stride design concept. The exterior features thick, horizontal proportions that produce a bold and fixing presence, and the jet tail fin struts inspired by the vertical tail of airplanes express the vehicle’s powerful and agile road performance. Inside, Mitsubishi Motors has carefully selected materials to enhance the premium feel, while the horizontally sculpted dashboard, which makes it easy to understand the car’s position while driving, adds a feeling of robustness and spaciousness.
