Queensland’s new land tax is a “renters tax”

Adoni Media’s Leisa Goddard says Queensland’s new land tax law is “as popular with interstate investors” as it is among those who are already feeling the strain of the housing crisis.

The Courier Mail newspaper reports that Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s new land tax is the main reason investors are trying to dump Queensland properties and say it will lead to higher rents.

“If you’re listening to real estate groups, they call it a renters tax,” he told Sky News Australia.
