R1: CLASS 3 HANDICAP HIGHWAY TAB (1500m)

Summary: The playwright comes out with a large draw here, but he has been impressive in this campaign and should be thrown home from the outside here. Angelical is undefeated in three runs to date and while she has yet to beat the clock, she is a real winner. Keen Contributer was unlucky at the start and should also be strong late here.

BET TIPS: Lean on the playwright.

R2: MIDWAY BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1700m)

Summary: Lovetheinvasion was a strong fresh winner and had form on this distance interval the last preparation. The second form of her isn’t great though. Outlook is a horse that should appreciate the extra travel and will run late. Real Peace was a good winner at the last start and should have won earlier too, while Harvey’s Way and Always Sure also have claims on both sides.

BET TIPS: Not much between Outlook and Lovetheinvasion.

R3: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (2200m)

Summary: This looks like a good race for Military Mission and he probably should have won last weekend. His run was very good and Hameron had the drop (and weight difference) on him late. Stellar Performer was not far from Hameron’s last departure and that form ties into the favorite here. Traveling Kate is doing great even though this is the toughest test of him to date, while Mission Phoenix will also have admirers from the last run.

BET TIPS: Military mission to win.

R4: POLES OF THE VINEYARDS WOODS (1100 m)

Summary: In Secret she was a very impressive debut winner and looks like a very talented filly. Luna Rocks was dominant last time around and she just needs to play it now to get closer again. These two look at the main hopes here.

BET TIPS: Secretly from Luna Rocks.

R5: 3 & 4YO BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1300m)

Summary: Sacrimony is back very well in this prep and is a horse you can count on to run well here again. However, in this race there is a stack of improvers on better ground. Different Strokes, I Am Lethal, Sinba, Casino Seventeen, Cotehele, Dynamic Impact and And We Danced can all be present without surprising and this is a pretty deep race.

BET TIPS: Sacrifice the horse to beat, but numbers 2,3,6,7,16,17 and 18 are all capable here.

R6: THE JOY OF DENISE IN GIOIA (1100m)

Summary: I Am Me has been ultra impressive in three runs in Victoria to date and while that’s another level, she looks at it. Najmaty stayed wide in Melbourne first, but won with one leg in the air. He should be late springing his wings again. There are a lot of fillies that can cause an upset outside of these two, but I want to focus on these two runners.

BET TIPS: I’m from Najmaty.

R7: LUSKIN STAR STAKES (1300m)

Summary: We have Tycoonist and Andermatt both in two races at the moment and it makes it difficult to resolve the first form. They would be the first two on the market if they ran here. A horse like Much Much Better is an underrated galloper and I like what he’s done fresh. He can definitely run well with 53 kg on his back. Bandersnatch is doing very well in this preparation and only has to manage the 1300m descent here.

BET TIPS: Much much better can improve.

R8: CLASSIC DARK JEWEL (1400m)

Summary: Very open mares compete with a variety of possibilities. Le Gai Soleil is a great fresh mare and has a firm walk. You can sit here and you should be very loud late. Brookspire was too bad to be truly fresh and it’s much better than that. You have a chance to come back here. Faschanel and Mirra Vision also look good either way.

BET TIPS: Le Gai Soleil to win.

R9: PEAKS OF HORTENSIA (1100m)

Summary: The race is difficult to assess in advance with Tycoonist and Andermatt both emergencies here and acceptors from a previous race. They would be the top two on the market if they ran here (and in the previous race). The Bopper has proven well in the lead and is in good fresh form. Malkovich will appreciate getting back to a firmer deck even if 1100m is as much as he wants. Roheryn is a great first horse and he should go home.

ABET TIPS: Andermatt and Tycoonist run here or before? Roheryn runs well in disagreement.

R10: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (1100m)

Summary: Athelric ran well on a wet track and just needs to play it over three terrains here. He has the right jockey on board and maps well. Hulk is a good cool horse and can definitely tell if the inside is holding up (barrier two drawn). There are other hopes here as well.

BET TIPS: Hulk the value?
