Although she missed her children terribly, it seems that Karlien van Jaarsveld and her husband’s recent visit to Mauritius was at least not all work and no play.
The Afrikaans singer has been sharing some behind the scenes moments from her and her husband, Joe’s recent visit to Mauritius’ Sugar Beach Resort and Spa, which coincided with a concert in collaboration with the likes of other Afrikaans artists like Demilee Moore, Monique, Corlea and more.
Dressed to impress, Karlien van Jaarsveld wore mini dresses of all kinds for her performances in Mauritius – two of them by Salomie du Toit Couture and one by Anel Botha Couture.
Joe inevitably had to play Insta-husband during their trip. “My husband who takes the photos is not like Willem Botha who says ‘sjoe, it’s beautiful.’ He wants to laugh about the poses, so then I am also full of laughs, but yes, this is what I have to show,” she says about the black mini dress by Anel Botha Couture.

Even celebrities (well, most of them) don’t get to spend time on an island every day, so while Karlien and her husband were there, they made the most of the beach whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Even if it meant combining her post with the news of My Tropica’s entries now being open.
“Rule number one about Island life: Always pack a hat! I forgot mine,” the singer wrote, captioning a carousel of photos of her and her husband on the beach.
She looked sleek in a pink Guess one-piece swimsuit as they indulged in the gorgeous Mauritian sunsets.
For her last performance, she wore what she calls her 100s and 1000s dress by Salomie du Plooy.
“I felt like after performing on stage, I could make an appearance on an ice rink,” she said in the post-Mauritius post. We are back safely. Now I am going to kiss and hug my kids!”
