Subaru is set to deliver turbo grunt in a package that attracts thousands of customers every year.
The manufacturer will introduce a more powerful “XT” version of the Outback in the first quarter of 2023.
Subaru Australia spokeswoman Chloe Fraser said an enhanced version of the Outback was “something our customers have been asking for for a long time.”
“While we are unable to share all pre-launch information at the moment, we wanted to be able to provide our customers with the golden confirmation that it is coming to market,” he said.
We are extremely excited to be able to provide this for our customers. ”
The technical details surrounding the car are scarce.
But we know the American versions powered by a retuned version of the WRX’s 2.4-liter engine that delivers 194 kW and 375 Nm, far more than the 138 kW and 245 Nm of the current 2.5-liter car.
American customers who choose the turbo version also enjoy an increase of 365 kilograms in maximum towing capacity, from 1225 kg to around 1590 kg.
The Outback XT will be paired with Subaru’s “Lineartronic” CVT automatic transmission, which also offers a full range of driver assistance features.
Expect a significant increase in fuel consumption to accompany the increase in power. It will also cost more than the current outback, which is available in three trim lines priced from around $ 46,000 to $ 55,000 drive-away.
