‘I broke faith and trust’: Albanian whips Morrison on AUKUS

Opposition leader Anthony Albanese says the Biden administration wanted Labor to be briefed on bipartisan support for the AUKUS deal.

Albanian said the Biden administration has asked the Morrison government for reassurance on the opposition consultation.

“It is extraordinary that the Prime Minister has broken that faith and trust with our most important ally by not informing Australian Labor about these issues,” he said.

“The fact that the United States made a request to Australia that was ignored for four and a half months shows that this is a prime minister who always does short-term politics.”
