Ms. Molly Jong-Fast and the case of Trump’s cruel border wall – deterrent to illegal behavior –

Ms. Molly Jong-Fast would like the world to know that deterrents are cruel.

That’s right, deterrents: de ter rent / dəˈtərənt / noun – something that discourages or is intended to discourage someone from doing something.

Something like, I don’t know, illegally entering a country.

He must be kidding, right? Do we all agree that climbing over the fence is an optional and voluntary act?

Please excuse the sensitive crowd if we fail to garner the appropriate sympathy, for what now?

Molly and her crew are on Trump’s cruel border wall.

Oh, wretched world where people suffer the consequences of their choices.

Tell us that the availability of treatment is not compassion.

Too bad that intelligence cannot be improved during a free urgent care visit.

Maybe the wall isn’t deterrent enough. If you really cared about the safety of these criminals, you would encourage them to stop trying to enter the country illegally for their own safety. Stop inviting people to our borders. Stop telling immigrants that our resources are infinite and that existing laws will not apply.

Or, completely ignore their humanity and compare them to birds torn apart by windmills?

Excellent point, if you believe that immigrants are unable to perceive the risk posed by climbing a 30-foot wall intended to stop illegal border crossings.

Perhaps a better approach would be to install an impassable border wall, one that even idiots wouldn’t dare attempt to cross.

Seriously, if cruelty were the point a deterrent would not be the approach to our borders. What Molly and her friends are saying is that it is cruel to try to control our borders. It is not nice to try to track down who is entering. It is vicious to provide barriers to entry into this great nation that the left wants to progressively transform into something completely different… but is that another story?
