Press gallery slammed for being in a ‘bubble of their own’

Former Labor Senator Stephen Conroy says the media are running their own “private” election campaign “on the side”. He said he thinks Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese is showing a degree of “frustration”. “Most Australians want to know the impact of rising interest rates and rising petrol prices in a few months,” Mr Conroy said. “What the gallery seem to be engaged in is a juvenile game of quiz, to see if Albo can recite with a photographic memory every single policy dot point. “The press gallery are actually in a bubble on their own, on a bus, not engaged with the issues that the Australian public is.”
