At this point, it is fairly well known that next week, White House press secretary Jen Psaki will be leaving the sacred halls of the White House for the sacred halls of MSNBC. According to the natural laws of the democratic world, she was replaced by former NBC / MSNBC political analyst Karine Jean-Pierre.
Oddly though, Psaki has been pretty quiet when it comes to her next big career move. There is a lot to say about Karine Jean-Pierre, though:
Much to say about how grateful I am to him @POTUS Other @FLOTUS and the Biden family for trusting me to serve as @PressSec and a lot of time before my last day to share, but today is upon us @ KJP46 then some thoughts on this amazing woman who will soon be behind the podium every day.

She will be the first black woman and the first openly LGBTQ + person to fill the role of White House press officer. Representation is important and she will give a voice to many, but she will also make many dream big about what is truly possible.

She is passionate. She is intelligent and has a moral core that makes her not only a great colleague, but an amazing and human mom. Also, she has a great sense of humor.

One of our first conversations was about how to build a drama-free team that focused on work and also on mutual support while playing a role every day in rebuilding trust in the government. Grateful to have had her by my side.

I can’t wait to see her shine as she brings her style, brilliance and grace to the podium.

That’s very sweet of you, Jen. But don’t sell yourself short. You will shine in your own right by bringing your style, brilliance and grace to MSNBC. You should be very proud of yourself and want everyone to know! So why so shy, dear?
Jen Psaki will still not confirm her work at MSNBC: she still has a week’s salary left as a taxpayer pic.twitter.com/tvlBerNxA7

“You still have a week’s salary left as a taxpayer.” eh Maybe that’s why she won’t confirm her MSNBC gig yet. Because you know optics well. If she were to talk about her comfortable new MSNBC gig now while she is still on Joe Biden’s payroll, it would give the impression of impropriety and questionable ethics.
And the Biden administration is nothing but fair and ethical.
